Everything you'd want to know
One ingredient, grown the slow way. Here's what's in the pouch, how to use it, and why cats go a little bit wild for it.

Why this catnip stays strong
Catnip loses its scent over months, so the longer it sits before it reaches you, the weaker it is. Ours is picked, air-dried and packed the same season. It comes from Bushwillow Estate, a family farm in South Africa: hand-picked, air-dried rather than heat-dried, and packed leaf and flower only. No stems, which carry almost no scent and are there to make a bag look full.
The result is catnip that still smells like catnip when you open the pouch. Keep the pouch sealed in a cupboard and it'll stay strong for the eight weeks a pouch usually lasts.
How to use
- Crush the leaf between your fingers to release the oil.
- Sprinkle it where you want the cat to play.
- Let the cat find it. Most cats go for ten minutes and then sleep it off. It isn't addictive, and cats stop when they've had enough.
- Reseal the pouch.
What it's for
Sprinkling and rolling in: on a toy, a scratching post, a bed, or inside a cardboard box.
Ingredients
Dried catnip (Nepeta cataria), leaf and flower. Nothing else.
FAQ
Where can I buy catnip in the UK?
Here, with free UK delivery. Supermarkets and pet shops sell it too, but check the date on anything in a jar; catnip loses its scent within months of harvest.
How much should I give my cat?
A pinch, crushed between your fingers. More catnip doesn't make a bigger reaction; fresher catnip does.
Why doesn't my cat like catnip?
A lot of cats don't respond, and it's genetic rather than anything you've done; silvervine works on most of the cats catnip doesn't.
Is this the same as cat nip?
Yes. Catnip, cat nip and catmint all refer to the same plant, Nepeta cataria.

Cats don't do polite.
Best catnip ever
“One of my boys sniffed the open bag for half a second and went absolutely nuts. I never seen anything like it, he had us dying of laughter. I absolutely recommend this brand.”
Send your cat insane!
“I wanted to see if my cat would go weird/funny/ridiculous. I'm happy to confirm he went all three. Just even sniffing in the bag turned him feral. Perfect stuff.”
Our cat loves this!
“We've tried other catnips which were just left, but this one drives our cat nuts. He rubs his nose in it and rolls round in it… On our second bag now and well worth it!”
Crazy cat
“Our cat goes crazy for this. We have tried others in the past and she wasn't too interested… If you think your cat doesn't like catnip, try this!”
The best
“I have purchased various brands in the past with only turned up noses and ugly looks at me like 'what is this junk', but not this brand! I came back for more.”
Instant hit
“Our cat never seemed interested in catnip products. Until we bought this. Now I sprinkle a pinch on the floor and she rubs all over it. It's great to enrich her life.”
Had the desired effect
“Little did we know our cat can read! She knew what it was and ran over before the packet was even open… she's still 'pole dancing' 15 minutes later.”
Cat approved catnip
“The fact my cat couldn't resist but break it open and roll around in it when I wasn't home… I think says it all! Would recommend, but perhaps put it out of reach.”
My cat loves this
“So far this one we get the most reaction out of. He will go out of his way to knock this off a shelf to get at it, so be prepared to hide it away.”
Cats love it
“My cats love this stuff. I put a little sachet inside some of their toys and it's like they have a new toy. Highly recommended.”
Every cat owner's dream!
“As soon as I opened the packet, my cat went crazy! Rubbing his head all over me and the bag… I put some inside his mouse and he absolutely loves it.”
Happy cat
“I get those little furry mice… put a few in the bag, leave them for a day or 2 then give it your fur baby. They will love you furever.”
Best catnip quality I've had
“Top quality, ground down to a nice consistency, perfect for my cats to actually eat, unlike some other brands that have massive stems throughout their nip. Can't complain and neither can my cats!”
Cats go crazy for this!
“I'm a cat sitter and of all the catnip type things I try with my cat clients, this is the best. It comes in a resealable packet which really keeps it fresh.”
Clean, dust free catnip
“This is a small packet, resealable, with just enough for my needs. The catnip looks clean, fresh and not dusty. I'm pleased with it. Happy to recommend.”

Any last questions?
The practical bits: delivery, subscriptions and what happens if your cat shrugs.
When will my order arrive?
Orders go out from our UK fulfilment centre and usually arrive in 2–3 working days. UK delivery is free on every order. The pouch fits through a standard letterbox, so there's no waiting in.
How does the subscription work?
First order half price: £4.99. Then £7.49 every 8 weeks, with free delivery every time. More than one cat? Pick 2+ cats in the buy box and we'll send 2 pouches every 8 weeks (£9.98 first, then £14.98). We email you 3 days before each renewal with the price and what's in the box, with links to skip or reschedule.
Can I pause, skip or cancel?
Yes, any time, with no fees. Skip a delivery, reschedule it, pause for a while or cancel altogether from your subscription page, or email hello@justcatnip.com and we'll take care of it.
Why every 8 weeks?
Opened catnip loses potency. Every 8 weeks: a pouch lasts one cat about 2 months, and it's at its best fresh. If you'd rather go slower, skip a delivery from your subscription page.
What if my cat isn't fussed?
Some cats take a moment, so crush a few leaves first to release the aroma and let them find it in their own time.
Every catnip order is covered by our money-back cat guarantee. If your cat doesn't love it, tell us within 14 days of delivery and we'll refund you. No need to send it back. Email hello@justcatnip.com with your order number. Tell us what your cat made of it; it helps us.
How do returns work?
You can cancel any order within 14 days of receiving it, without giving a reason. Email hello@justcatnip.com with your order number and we'll send you a free returns label, then refund you within 14 days of getting it back.
Opened it and your cat isn't keen? Every catnip order is covered by our money-back cat guarantee. If your cat doesn't love it, tell us within 14 days of delivery and we'll refund you. No need to send it back.
Do you deliver outside the UK?
Not yet. For now we deliver to UK addresses only. Outside the UK you'll find us on Amazon.
Is it safe for all cats?
It's 100% dried catnip leaf and flower with nothing added. It's safe for kittens, but most don't react to catnip until they're around eight months old, so there's no point before then. It's for cat use only and should be kept out of reach of children.
