Two ingredients in a fine mist. Here's what's in the bottle, what it's for and how to use it.
What this catnip spray is
Most catnip sprays are catnip oil shaken into water with an emulsifier to stop it separating. Ours has two ingredients: distilled water and catnip hydrosol. Hydrosol is the scented water left when catnip leaf is steam-distilled. That's it: no oil, no emulsifiers, nothing added.
The leaf is the same leaf that goes in our pouch, grown on a family farm, picked by hand.
How to use
- Shake the bottle.
- Hold it about 15cm from the surface and mist two or three times.
- Let the cat find it. Don't spray the cat.
- Reapply when they lose interest. More sprays at once don't make it stronger.
What it's for
- A scratching post the cat is ignoring. Two mists on the sisal and most cats are on it within a minute. Repeat every few days until the habit sticks.
- The carrier before a vet trip. Mist the inside ten minutes before you need the cat in it.
- A new bed, blanket or cat tree the cat hasn't accepted yet.
- Toys that have gone stale. A mist brings an old kicker toy back.

FAQ
Does it stain fabric?
No. It's water-clear, with no oil or emulsifiers in it. Sprays made from catnip oil can leave marks on fabric; this one won't.
How long does it last?
On a surface, a few days before the scent fades. In the bottle, keep the lid on and store it out of sunlight.

Is it safe for all cats?
It has two ingredients and nothing added. It's safe for kittens, but most don't react to catnip until they're around eight months old, so there's no point before then. It's for cat use only and should be kept out of reach of children.

I bought this spray because it had good reviews and I thought I’d try it instead of a bag of catnip which is messy (especially when my cats find it’s hiding place and spread it around the kitchen floor - it was carnage! 😂). Anyhoo, I use it to refresh their catnip toys and they approve.
